Planning a birth date usually means scheduling a caesarean, and that is a medical decision with real consequences for both mother and baby. This page offers traditional Vedic guidance, not medical advice. The safest time to deliver is the one your doctor advises, and it should always come first. Never plan, delay or bring forward a delivery on the strength of this page.
The five limbs of the day. Rikta tithis (4th, 9th, 14th) are set aside and purna tithis favoured; the nakshatra is weighed against the classical list for birth; the nine inauspicious nitya yogas and the Vishti (Bhadra) karana are penalised; and the weekday is scored by its ruling planet.
The rising sign turns a full circle each day, so it is what separates one hour from the next. We look for benefics in the kendras and trikonas, malefics kept to the upachaya houses, an empty eighth house, and a Moon clear of the dusthanas.
Where a water sign ends and a fire sign begins — the last 3°20' of Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces and the first 3°20' of Leo, Sagittarius or Aries — is gandanta, among the strongest contraindications in the classical texts. Those moments are excluded outright, however favourable everything else looks.
The score comes from the classical muhurta rules described above — a written system that has been applied for centuries. Every factor names the rule it used, so nothing here is a black box: you can disagree with a judgement and see exactly which rule produced it.
It is not a statistical prediction, and we will not dress it up as one. Nobody can show, from birth charts, which moments produce good lives — there is no dataset of outcomes to learn that from, and a collection of famous people cannot supply one, because they were gathered for being notable rather than for being happy. What we can tell you honestly is that a moment scores well by the traditional criteria. That is what this page reports.
